Beauty & the Beast is an American television series very loosely inspired by the 1987 CBS series of the same name. The series premiered on October 11, 2012. On November 9, 2012, The CW ordered a full 22-episode season of the series. On April 26, 2013, The CW renewed the series for a full 22-episode second season. The show will move to Mondays for its second season having been paired with Hart of Dixie. The show's second season premiered on October 7, 2013. As of March 17, 2014, Beauty & the Beast will go on hiatus but will return in May 2014.
